This is my second Norinco and I am planning to replace a few more parts on it after I shoot a couple hundred more rounds through it. Only thing I hated about the pistol was it original had fake white ivory grips that I immediately disposed of.
Both are Government Models and feature 401XXXX and 408XXXX serial numbers respectively. Good Morning, I am trying to date a couple of old Norinco 1911 pistols. I believe the top range of serial numbers before the ban was in the the range of 600,XXX to low 700,XXX. There were two other major importers but their names escape me right now. Not all Norinco 1911's were imported through C.S.I. Lowest number I've found to date is 309,XXX with importer marks of MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO, C.S.I.
I have been attempting to determine the serial number range of the pistols (1911AA1 C) imported as well as the various importer markings. These ones didn't have any Norinco markings or say Made in China, just '1911A1.45' on the slide and a serial number on the frame. I ended up with 5 of them before they sold out. And they were cheap too, $500 for the pistol and 1000 rounds of ammo.
I had another Tussey Custom built Colt that also had a 4 digit number on it's slide & small parts. I had no idea who did the work at first, but I found a 4 digit electric pencil number on the slide and some small parts that was not part of the serial number.
